This two day workshop begins with selecting a variety of textile scraps from Jan's stock, then cutting them up to prepare new surfaces ready for sewing.
From there you will learn how to enrich and develop these, by way of simple machine and hand embroidery techniques.
Finally, you will embellish your samplers by using a wide variety of emphemera, such as buttons, beads and found artefacts. These pieces can later be incorporated into such items as wall-hangings, cushions and bags.
This is a great introductory course, designed to help the budding textile artist to think outside the box!
